Sanford, N.C., June 16, 2003 – Fedders Indoor Air Quality (FIAQ), a division of Fedders Corporation, has introduced the Herrmidisteam™ Steam-to-Steam (SS) Generator under the Herrmidifier brand. Herrmidisteam-SS can be used in office buildings, dormitories, hospitals, schools, research facilities, museums and manufacturing facilities, including paper mills and printing plants. Herrmidisteam-SS increases humidification by 20% and is used within an existing boiler by taking the steam and passing it through a copper or stainless steal heat exchanger into a stainless steel evaporating chamber. The stainless chamber gives Herrmidisteam-SS a long, rust-free life and, by preventing oxidation, eliminates the problems associated with potentially carcinogenic boiler treatment chemicals.

Herrmidisteam-SS is available in two sizes: Model SS-1600 C, which has a capacity of 1,700 lbs./hr. (770 kg/hr.) with tap water, and Model SS-DI-1600S, which has a capacity of 1,250 lbs./hr. (570 kg/hr.) with de-ionized or reverse osmosis water for clean steam. Both models have a rugged internal stainless steel magnetic float to ensure proper water levels for optimum operation, adjustable skimmer and automatic drain cycles and an adjustable drain tempering option to limit drain discharge temperature to less than 130°F (54°C).

The two models also have a standard, two-year warranty and are UL/CUL and CE listed.
