In 1996 Trion, Inc., acquired Herrmidifier and moved the operation to Sanford, NC. Trion has been a world leader in IAQ products since 1947, effectively cleaning indoor air for clients as demanding as the U.S. Navy nuclear submarine fleet, as well as providing quality products that serve a broad range of applications in the commercial and industrial markets.

In 1999, Fedders Corporation (NYSE:FJC), a leading global manufacturer and marketer of air treatment products, acquired Trion and Herrmidifier. Today, under the umbrella of Fedders Indoor Air Quality Solutions, Herrmidifier continues to help a wide range of commercial and industrial customers improve their indoor air quality through proper humidification.
